Fudge Pie

Who can resist sweet, rich, chocolate fudge?
Not me.  I found this recipe in Southern Living Magazine and it was love at first bite.

This simple, decadent chocolate pie filling can make your taste buds do a happy dance.
Sorry, I drooled a little....

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 (12-oz.) package semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 (9-inch) frozen unbaked piecrust shell (homemade or frozen)
  • Scoop Vanilla Ice cream (or flavor of your choice)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°. Microwave first 3 ingredients in a large microwave-safe bowl at HIGH 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until melted and smooth, whisking at 30-second intervals.

Whisk sugar and flour into chocolate mixture. Add eggs, 1 at a time, whisking just until blended after each addition. Whisk in vanilla and salt. Stir in pecans. Pour mixture into pie shell.

Bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes or until set. Cool 10 minutes before serving. Serve with ice cream.

Frozen DIY art bag
Keeping it Real
Yesterday we went to a Frozen themed birthday party for a little girl turning four. And because I love themed birthday parties I decided I needed to make a custom gift (even though we had a crazy, busy week and I didn't have much time...).

DIY “OUR FAMILY ROCKS” FRAME
Homemaking Hacks
A while ago I spotted the cutest gift, it was actually a print and not actual rocks. But it read “Our Grandpa Rocks” and has all the names of the children in the family printed on surrounding rocks. That framed print is $40 and I just couldn’t justify paying for it as cute as it is, but I put it on my to-do list to try to create something similar. The major difference is that I used real rocks because hey… rocks are free.

BLACK BEAN AND SALSA CHICKEN WRAPS
LEMONS AND LAUGHS
I have a mass of dry beans hanging out on my Lazy Susan. Where did they come from? I don’t know. How long have they been there? I don’t know. Why did I buy them? I don’t know. I do know that I would like to reclaim that little area of my kitchen to store something more useful and needed. I am not saying dry beans are useless, but for as often as I cook with them they may as well be. When I wrote up this recipe I wrote to use a can of black beans because it would be easier, and it will be what I am using in the future now that my black beans are finished. For this exact time I soaked the beans overnight then dumped them in the slow cooker juice and all.

Little Brags
Cute DIY Polka Dot Pillows
Hello Loves, did you see how I decorated our BACK PATIO last week for Mothers Day DAY?
Well, I got lots of comments and questions about those cute grey and white polka-dot pillows.

Process Art for Kids (Art Studio Diaries # 1)
The Practical Mom
I have a hundred stories and a thousand pictures from my Art Studio that I have been conducting this Summer! But the laptop crashed (which is actually great, cuz I have a brand new one now!) and being laptop-less for a few weeks mean sifting thru a deluge of photos all at once. Before I get into specifics  of what went down (I will, soon!), I want to shoot out a post on the process art that the kids been loving.

Patriotic Red White and Blue Fruit Salad
Simplee Thrifty

Quick fresh fruit delicious salad! This Patriotic Red White and Blue Fruit Salad is perfect for Memorial Day, 4th of July or a healthy treat anytime of the year! Whip this up if in no time if you have to make a dish to pass. I’m making this again for my son’s graduation party this year! Enjoy!

3 Healthy Mason Jar Meals- Made Easy!

Reviews, Chews and How-tos

Summer is right around the corner and everyone is jumping the gun on getting their beach bodies back, or even just eating healthier as the weather gets warmer. I myself am not a "dieter" per say. I like making healthy life style changes and sticking with them for a better tomorrow.

SWEET POTATO SUNDAE
LIVING THE GOURMET
I served the ice cream on a warm bed or nest of the sweet potato fries, which created for a delicious contrast between the chilled sweet of the ice cream, and the warm savory tones of the fries.

Encourage One Another TODAY
Glorifying Him

There is power in our words.  Use them wisely because our words can cause problems with family and neighbors.  It only takes a moment to ruin relationships that might never be rebuilt.

Let's get to pickling ( peppers and asparagus that is)!
Homesteading Quest

I went to the Farmer's Market this morning and there was a man there with jalapenos from his hot house and this whole bunch of jalapenos was just $3. So I got those and then I traded 1 dozen eggs to a friend of mine for this beautiful asparagus. Look at it. Just lovely. We have finally planted some, but we won't be able to get a harvest from it until next year.

Easy Apple Dump Cake Recipe
Southern Krazed

Oh my gosh y’all! This has got to be the easiest and TASTIEST recipe ever! It’s an easy Apple Dump Cake that not only will make your mouth water, but your house will smell delicious too! It’s a perfect dessert recipe to go with supper. Your family will want seconds on dessert! :)

PAINTED FLOWER POTS DIY
About A Mom

Painting your own flower pots is such a simple and inexpensive way to personalize and spruce up a patio, garden or entryway. This painted flower pots diy project can easily be achieved in an afternoon. All it requires is some terracotta pots, paints, stencils and a trip to the garden shop

30-Minute Jambalaya Recipe
The Classy Chapter

As a busy mom of 3 it’s pretty obvious that I enjoy easy home cooked recipes! If I can use leftovers, that’s even better. The problem with leftovers in my household is that there is 5 of us, so if we do have any left over food it doesn’t go very far for another meal. How do you feed a family of 5 with 2 leftover chicken breasts?

Simple Cranberry Margarita
Life In My Empty Nest

This margarita has only three ingredients and the best thing is that these are ingredients that
I always have on hand. So, whenever I am in the mood for a fun,
happy hour cocktail this summer, this will be my go to drink.

A Mini Posts: Essence Lash Princess Mascara Review
A Girl And Her Chicken Named Betty

I bought this because the super cute packaging caught my eye, but it turned out to be a really good mascara, so I'm doing a quick review of it today!

Fun Foods We Have Made.....
Gentle Joy Homemaker

We all see pictures of fun foods - that are cute or clever or just exciting. Well, in our home, we like to make those and here are some that we have done.

Chai Raisin Donuts with Chai Glaze
Upstate Ramblings

The first week in May is National Raisin Week, and to celebrate I made these Chai Raisin Donuts.

Jack Daniels Crockpot Pulled Pork
Lou Lou Girls

I love that my husband likes to cook! We had our first state game tonight and I came home to a clean house and a new pulled pork recipe! Best dinner ever! I love him! Anyways, this one took a little work, fair warning!
